The 2028 US Olympic Trials will be held in Eugene, Oregon, from June 17-22, 2028, marking the sixth consecutive Trials to be held in the city. However, the event will be condensed to six days, with the 10,000m and combined events held separately earlier in the spring.

Audrey Werro secured her first major title with a championship-record 1:54.81 in the European 800m final, outpacing defending champion Keely Hodgkinson (1:55.01) in a tactical masterclass. Femke Broeders-Bol, a 400m hurdles specialist, claimed bronze in 1:55.54, setting a Dutch record.
