The Diamond League returns this weekend after a month-long break, kicking off a busy conclusion to the 2026 professional track and field season. The DL will stage four meets over the span of 16 days, with further stops in Silesia, Zurich, and Brussels before the final in Brussels on September 4-5.

One of the most anticipated events in Lausanne is the men's 800m, featuring a loaded field with Brandon Miller, Emmanuel Wanyonyi, and Marco Arop. Miller has been in impressive form this year, winning four consecutive races and beating top athletes in the process. His coach, Danny Mackey, believes that Miller has a real shot at breaking the American record, currently held by Bryce Hoppel at 1:41.67.
