American Contenders
The United States will field a formidable squad in the men’s 3000 and 1500. In the 3000, Parker Wolfe, Nico Young, Graham Blanks, Grant Fisher and Abdihamid Nur are lined up. The 1500 will see Ethan Strand, Cole Hocker, Yared Nuguse, Vincent Ciattei and Hobbs Kessler compete. These athletes already account for seven mid-distance victories on the DL circuit in 2026, the most in history.

Zurich is also one of the last opportunities for athletes to earn Diamond League points and improve their world ranking, which is crucial for qualifying for the Diamond League final and the World Ultimate Championships. Kessler and Nur are both on the bubble for World Ultimates, while Young needs points to qualify for the DL final.
Key Rematches
The meet will feature several rematches from Lausanne and Silesia. In the men’s 3000, Cam Myers will face the American trio; Myers, who ran 7:27 at the New Balance Indoor Grand Prix in January, has been racing at a high level for eight months. His coach, Dick Telford, has managed his load to keep him healthy for four more races.
In the men’s 1500, the top nine finishers from Silesia return. Ethan Strand, who won convincingly in Silesia, is a clear contender. Yared Nuguse and Timothy Cheruiyot, both qualified for the DL final, skipped the first 1500 to stay fresh for the second. Nuguse’s recent circuit record of 1st, 1st, 2nd, 2nd in four DL appearances makes him a strong favourite.
Women’s 800 Showdown
The women’s 800 will be the headline event, featuring home favourite Audrey Werro against World Indoor, Commonwealth and European champion Georgia Hunter Bell. Werro’s unbeaten streak could end in Zurich after her narrow win over Femke Broeders-Bol in Lausanne, where she split 55.3/60.0. Hunter Bell, who has won five of her last six races, will be a significant challenge. Broeders-Bol’s personal bests in her last two races and Ethiopia’s Saida Tsehaye’s upward trajectory add depth to the field.
